Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the ChoiceLens mobile application ("App") or accessing our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). These Terms are a binding legal agreement between you and Edglance LLC ("we", "our", or "us"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

2. App Purpose and Description

ChoiceLens is an AI-powered food decision-support tool. It is designed to scan barcodes or ingredient panels and provide personalized verdicts, nutrition parameters, and suggested alternatives based on user-entered goals. The App is licensed, not sold, to you for personal, non-commercial use only, subject to these Terms.

3. NO MEDICAL ADVICE DISCLAIMER

ChoiceLens does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or cures.All contents of the App, including generated food scores, match verdicts, AI responses in chat, and ingredient explanations are for general informational purposes only. The information provided should not be treated as a substitute for professional medical advice, consultation, diagnosis, or dietary counseling. Always seek the advice of a physician or qualified health provider with any questions regarding medical conditions, allergies, or therapeutic diets. Never ignore professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of information read in the App.

4. PRODUCT DATA ACCURACY DISCLAIMER

ChoiceLens relies on third-party public databases (e.g., Open Food Facts, UPCitemdb), local caches, and camera-based Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to evaluate products.We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any product data.Barcode numbers, OCR read text, ingredient lists, allergen declarations, nutritional facts, product catalog matching, and AI-generated outputs may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Product packaging and ingredients change frequently. You must always read the physical label on the product package (including allergy statements) before consuming any food item.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

ChoiceLens offers premium features (ChoiceLens Pro) through auto-renewing subscription tiers.

  • Billing and Processing: All payments are processed by Apple Inc. through the App Store and are subject to the terms and privacy policy of Apple.
  • Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of the billing cycle (weekly, monthly, or annually) unless you cancel the subscription at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • Cancellation and Refunds: You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your App Store Account Settings on your Apple device. All refund requests are handled directly by Apple and are subject to Apple's refund policy.

6. Acceptable Use and Accounts

To use ChoiceLens, you must register through Apple Sign In. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and account.

You agree not to:

  • Decompile, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the App or its backend services.
  • Circumvent subscription quotas or API rate-limiting restrictions.
  • Use the App in a manner that disrupts the service or violates the rights of other users.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Edglance LLC, its officers, employees, and providers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, goodwill, data, health complications, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of or inability to use the App, or from any inaccuracies in the analyzed product data.

8. Changes to Service and Terms

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the App or any feature therein with or without notice. We may update these Terms from time to time. Your continued use of the App following the posting of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revisions.
